Who are we?
four-forty strives to provide accessible electronics that help you build awesome things.
We design the kind of products that we want to use. That means affordable, robust, and open-source. It also means that we’re personally invested in ensuring that each product is the best it can possibly be. We’re still small, but that doesn’t stop us from producing awesome things. Here’s what you should expect from any product from us:
- Schematics, board files, mechanical dimensions, and CAD
- Open source firmware and software repositories
- Clear, to-the-point documentation and guides
How are your designs licensed?
We design, prototype, and test all our own products in-house, and perform quality checking on every item going out the door. We believe that tight control over manufacturing and quality checking adds real value for our customers. With that said, if you’re eager to copy, modify, or iterate on our designs, you are welcome to do so. We only ask that you retain attribution to us and distribute your contributions under the same license. All of our hardware is licensed under Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International and our software/firmware under the MIT license
Can you make a customized version of one of your products for me?
Our in-house design and prototyping focus means we’re well equipped to produce custom solutions and variants of our products. If you’re interested in reaching out about a custom application, drop us a line at: email@example.com
Do you do sponsorships?
We <3 student teams. We can offer products at significantly reduced prices for student and academic teams, and potentially work with you to customize a product for your application. Reach out to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
